Making Innovation in Mobility and Sustainable Actions - is an innovative project bringing the cities of Bologna, Funchal, Gdansk, Tallinn and Utrecht together. “Learning How to Move Better, to Live in Better Cities” is the driving force behind all 69 measures, a driving force that had the ambition to adopt an integrated technological, infrastructural and citizen-engagement approach to shape a new citizen mentality. Sustainable travel behaviour should be deemed a reward as opposed to a sacrifice. Now four years on, the results are here for all to see. See our video, results brochure and find measure updates on city pages.”

Co-funded by CIVITAS MIMOSA, the edition of 2012 of the urban cycling contest saw seven European cities challenge each other. Nearly 1,200 participants cycled throughout May in their cities, leaving their cars in the garage, covering about 90,000 kms and saving about 10 tons of CO2. All their trips were tracked by GPS with the support of the Endomondo© free App.
